Powertex and Felting a brooch, now thats different for me.

Hi, i different post today.
I went to the NEC last week to hobbycraft show.
The show has really changed this year, as a lot of companies did not attend this year due to the high costs and other commitments.
So i did feel the card making and mixed media took i hit, there were none of the new CHA products, I was looking for Tim Holtz and Prima, nothing new. I felt a lot of exhibiters were selling off old stock
But to make the best of a day out, i found two new to me, hobbies.
Powertex
Wow, i attended all three workshops and loved them, they really are taking on mixed media.
First was this fish, this is how it started.
and how it ended

 Next was this heart

The end result.

Then a small canvas with odds and ends.

These workshops are so good as you could do whatever you wanted with colours and designs.
Such great products, think they are addictive.
They have so many possibilities.
Will be making another fish.
Next was felting and made this cute brooch.
I was shocked how well it came together.
Very therapeutic stabbing a sponge.
Again possibilities are endless, small panel on a card or in a frame.

Hope you like my new hobbies, just need more time to play.

Last page made at Fran's Workshop, citrus and texture.

Hi, back with the last page from Fran's workshop and my favourite, got it finished at last.

Lots of textures and the circles are elastic bands, mad i know.
There is sparkle embossing powder, which does not show up on the photos which is a shame.
Really happy with this page as they are not colours i would normally chose but love them.

Thought i would do a recap of the other two.

I hope to create another page soon.
Thanks for visiting. xx

Inside the journal, thanks to Fran.

Hi. This is my Journal that i made at a workshop with Fran at Pink Tulip a few weeks ago.
This week i've been back, to learn about making pages inside.

Page one, we stamped with a lemon, stencilled and added lots of colour with pastel oils and water colour inks

Love the bird its from the same stamps as the front (Dina)

Page two, lots of paint, bubble wrap, beads, flowers, a bit dark for me but still interesting.

There is page 3, but you will have to pop back as its my favourite and its not finished yet.
It is lighter and sparkly, yum.
Thanks to Fran and Pink Tulip for another great day. We crafted from 10 to 6, wow.
