Lavinia Stamps, Scented Heart.

Hi, another project made in bed, recovering and it took two days.
Sewing is not my thing but love Lavinia stamps and cats.
So bought this printed panel and felt, then had to work out how to quilt it and sew together.
What a labour of love.

First using gold sparkly metallic thread, i sewed cross the lines, sun then around the heart, with a flat wadding behind.
Then hot fixed the rhinestones onto the flowers.

Added extra filling with lavender, organza ribbon and a bling heart.

Love it now its finished, but don't think i will be doing anymore sewing.

Candy Box Crafts, Hatton Box with Never-ending summer papers from Lemoncraft

Hi,
Today i have a beautiful box.
I went to a wonderful workshop with Roy from Candy Box Crafts.
It my favourite type where you can use your own stash and do your own thing.
I've had these papers a long time and waiting for the perfect project,
and the knob in the centre i've had years and decided it too would be perfect.

Made the box up, glued then painted the box cream inside and out.
These boxes from Candy Box Crafts are so well designed and go together easily.
Used the papers, Never-ending Summer from LemonCraft.

Roy showed me how to make the cones, easy when you know how.
The lock is Graphic 45.

I decided to create a shabby chic box as its my favourite style.
With lots of lovely embellishments.

The badges on the sides match the papers from lemon craft.
The leaves are prima.
The rhinestones are super sparkly ss20,

I added distress inks around the edges of all my papers.
Also added treasure gold on the edges of the lid.
A few laser cut butterflies from my stash which are really old.
Coloured my roses with tattered rose DI.

Seahorse family. Distress Crayons, Collage Medium and stamps by Ryn.

Hi.
Been playing with my art journal and the new Distress Crayons and Distress Collage Medium, crazing.
Love the effect.

Dug out the fusible fibres and fantasy film, iron, parchment paper, and sharpies to make the seahorse family with Designs by Ryn stamps.
Made them colourful.
Even gave them punk hair.

Added all-sorts of stuff, bubble wrap, tulle, waste off hessian and a few sequins.
All created on a piece of cardboard with distress crayons.

The background stamp is bubbles set from Designs by Ryn

Its been a lovely day today, so took the photos in the garden, shame about the shadow at the top, never mind.
Hope you like the page, getting into journaling now.

Powertex frame, mixed media project.

Hi.
Todays share is Powertex.
Liquid Sculpting Medium.
Its a wooden frame, painted with ivory powertex.
The fabric, lace, cardboard, die cuts and other bits and pieces have had the liquid worked into them, then they stick to the frame.

Once the frame and elements are all coated, i spritzed with powertex bister, blue and brown.
Then dried with a hair dryer.

When dry, i used the pigment, bronze to highlight the elements.
To finish a few gems, a pearl and stickles star dust to add some sparkle. Which its a shame but the photos do not show the sparkle, which is really pretty.

This is my first play with powertex at home.
I did a few workshops at the NEC a few weeks ago, but nothing like this.
This was a good learning curb and i think next time i will do better.
I really struggled with the pigments in the spray bottles, they just kept blocking.
If i can sort the bottles out i will get a better finish.
The lace butterfly and flowers have dried hard and look really great, will do this again on other projects, as the torn cardboard and hessian.
Other items used are, muslin, Powertex 3D balls small and medium, chipboard shapes.

Would like to enter these challenges;
which gave me a good push to use my powertex and i now want to make another one.
